Mocha Shake: Just as Good as an Iced Latte

Brain Body Diet Recipe | Mocha Latte | Sara Gottfried MD

Everyone loves a good cup of mocha. But once you’ve nixed caffeine for more kindness to your hormones, you’ll need a good replacement. I personally find that a fiber-filled shake does the job of getting me revved up for my day. This alternative Mocha Shake from Brain Body Diet blends together the fiber, protein, and healthy fat to keep me feeling full. The fiber alone does wonders for the gut, by cutting down on bloat, reducing inflammation, and promoting weight loss.

Trust me, you won’t want to skimp on the avocado because they stabilize blood sugars and give a dose of omega-3. Together with the almond or coconut milk, it makes this mocha shake extra creamy, almost like a real latte. I totally recommend you give this one a whirl!

Ingredients

2 cups unsweetened almond or coconut milk (or milk of your choice)
2 scoops decaf cappuccino protein powder or medical food (look for one containing at least 20 grams of vegan protein)
1 scoop fiber powder
1⁄2 avocado
2 to 3 teaspoons cocoa or cacao powder
Coffee to taste and desired consistency
6-8 ice cubes

Whip all ingredients in a high-powered blender to desired consistency.
